Position Overview

You’ll lead the design direction for both new hotel developments and refurbishments of existing properties, from concept through to completion. As a Senior Interior Designer, you’ll be at the helm of projects, collaborating closely with a small, talented design team and managing both in-house design tasks and external consultants. This role is central to maintaining the high standards and unique aesthetic across the hotel portfolio, ensuring each property aligns with the brand vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee external designers, consultants, and contractors to ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.
  • Design Presentations: Develop visually compelling presentations that convey design concepts and ideas effectively.
  • Technical Drawings: Prepare detailed drawings for each phase of the design and pre-construction stages, aligning with RIBA project stages.
  • FF&E Schedules: Curate and select furniture, fixtures, and equipment that enhance each hotel’s aesthetic and functional appeal.
  • Site Travel: Travel to hotel sites across the UK and Europe to inspect progress, assess design integration, and prepare detailed reports.

Requirements

  • Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential to manage design drafting and technical drawings.
  • Project Experience: Experience with RIBA stages and familiarity with UK project standards are critical.
  • Organisational Skills: You’ll need to manage multiple projects and deadlines, so strong organizational and multitasking skills are key.
  • Creative Vision: A proven ability to develop inspiring, functional designs tailored to the hospitality sector.
